Hospital-only general contracting. Renovation, remodel, and small-scope new work — never new ground-up. We've kept it that way for nearly twenty years on purpose.
Operating Rooms and Procedural Suites
OR buildouts and renovations are where every detail compounds. Sole-source manufacturer coordination — Rauland-Borg nurse call, Stryker booms, Steris tables. Med gas verification under ASSE 6030 by an independent verifier, never the installer. Pressure relationships, ASHRAE 170 air-change requirements, and HEPA filtration acceptance testing handled before turnover. We build these as if the surgeon walking in tomorrow is one of our own.
Imaging and Interventional
Linear accelerators, interventional radiology, cath labs, MRI suites. Each has its own structural, shielding, and infection-control demands. We've delivered them in occupied hospitals where the suite next door stayed live the whole time we were working.
Patient-Facing Renovations
Reception desks, consultation suites, public corridors, registration areas. The work most patients never realize is going on around them — because we kept the dust where it belonged and the noise to the windows we said we'd hold to.
When a survey leaves comments, the clock starts.
When a Joint Commission survey leaves comments that require physical corrections, the clock starts. The window before resurvey isn't long, the corrective work has to be right the first time, and operations can't stop while you fix it. Rock Solid has been doing this work for St. Anthony's, Blake Medical, and other West Central Florida hospitals for years.
We handle both sides of the corrections list — life-safety code work like fire-rated assemblies, penetrations, egress paths, doors, and ceiling integrity, and infection-control work like sealed surfaces, ICRA-class containment, pressure relationships, and HVAC corrections. We read the survey report, scope the work the way the surveyor will check it, and turn it around within the window.
Hospitals call us back for this work because we know how to handle it both ways: small, lumped corrections we can run on time-and-materials so you're not waiting on bid paperwork to start, and larger discrete corrections we'll bid fixed-price so you know what you're committing to. Whichever your facility prefers, we'll quote it that way.
Specialty Capabilities
These are the things we do as standard practice that other GCs treat as add-ons:
- ICRA Class III and IV hard-barrier containment — STARC-style modular systems, particle count baselines, OmniAire 600V negative-air HEPA scrubbers, daily monitoring logs, Omniguard pressure verification.
- OAC meeting facilitation — every Tuesday morning if that's what the owner needs, on time, on agenda, with revised schedules and full meeting packages prepared in advance.
- Trimble e-Builder fluency — submittals, CCDs, PCOs, pay applications, all run by the book on the platform BayCare and HCA expect.
- AdventHealth documentation systems — same discipline, different platform.
- Scheduled shutdowns — including weekend and after-hours work where occupied operations require it.
- Self-perform scopes — drywall, paint, demo, doors, casework — where running our own crew gets the work done faster and cleaner than coordinating another sub.
- AHCA inspection preparation — every AHCA inspection on a Rock Solid project has come back clean. Public record — anyone is welcome to look.
What we don't do.
We don't do residential. We don't do general commercial. We don't do new ground-up construction. We don't dilute hospital expertise into other markets. That focus is what keeps our work as good as it is.
